Out and back on Greens Prairie Ext is about 8 miles. You can do it twice
(like the Junior National Championships did last year) for anything between
10 and 16 miles, depending on the starting and turn-around point.
For me (and Jean Marie) in Southwood Valley it is almost exactly the same
distance as to the current location. The last time I rode Greens Prairie Ext
the road surface was pretty rough, but traffic is less than on Hwy 47 but
there are no real shoulders...
I think Greens Prairie Ext may be our best option when Villa Maria is
signalized. Another option (depending on when construction is complete) is
to use the new/planned Hwy 40 between Greens Prairie/Hwy 6 and
Wellborn/Graham (http://www.dot.state.tx.us/BRY/projects/sh40.htm). It looks
like it will be about 6 miles out and back.
