The first 1.5 hours were indeed bitterly cold, esp for fingers and toes, and
thoughts of the nice warm houses we'd left were mocking us.  But by the turn
off OSR onto the great road to New Baden the sun was heating the air, the pace
was picking up, the wind was soon at our backs, and the last 50+ miles were
absolutely awesome.  It was really a great ride.
