BVC-CHAT dead animals on Hwy 47 shoulder

You can thank the "rumble strips" that cars and trucks don't sweep more of the critters to the edge, along with the glass and cigarette butts and everything else.

Since this is a state highway, contact TxDot and report the carnage. 778-9600 is the local number, http://www.dot.state.tx.us/bry/ is their web page with maps and links to maintenance offices, etc.

According to their web site the position of Maintenance Supervisor for Bryan is vacant, perhaps that's part of the problem?

Brian, who managed to miss two skunks and a rabbit (all live) yesterday while riding.

Subject: BVC-CHAT dead animals on Hwy 47 shoulder

Riding on Highway 47 the last few days, I have seen a lot of dead
animals on the shoulder of the road. Yesterday and the day before I
noticed a large dead dog (almost as big as a deer) close to the corner
of 47 and Villa Maria. It doesn't leave much space to maneuver and is
an awful sight besides.

Who should one call to report something like that and ask to have it
removed? There are dead skunks and possums in various places on the
road too as well as retreads and broken bottles, but they're smaller.
The shoulders could use a good cleaning with a street sweeper. Any
suggestions?
