BVC-CHAT meeting notes 12/13/05 - Jersey Day!!

  Jersey Day!!!!!  Many thanks to Hot Dog Bob for being the gracious host for the Jersey Day meeting.   Many thanks to all who worked to make the jerseys a reality.
   
  Club stock jerseys are available for $55.00.
   
  Donate to Brazos Food Bank – We want to give $1000 as a group on 12/14/05 at the Food for Families Food Drive.  Meet at 7:15am Wednesday in the parking lot at the Briarcrest Shell and we will ride as a group over to the Brazos Center.
   
  Club members have been invited to make comments, on BVC-Chat, concerning the direction the club could take in the next year or so:  Social? Bike Advocacy? Outreach? Safety?  All?  Some?  Happy the way it is?  This is your club.  Your officers want to know what you feel is the proper course.  Let your voice be heard!!
   
  Bike to Work Day 2006 is appearing on the horizon.  A few people expressed interest in helping but no one jumped at the chance of being the chairman.  Is this really important to everyone?  If it is, take the step beyond thinking, “Yeah.  That’s a great idea.”  Willie suggested we try something other than feeding people lunch to get people into bicycle commute.  Any ideas?  Post them on the BVC-Chat!
   
  Treasury has roughly $2200 in it.  
   
  Anna Munoz told the club that Phoebe’s Home wants to give bicycles to the women taking refuge there.  The co-ordinator would like to come to our January meeting to further discuss the plan.  Billy Cox offered several bikes he had collected.  Willie Allen would like the club to donate a trailer so the women can haul groceries and kids.
   
  Email Lenae Huebner if you can help with early morning (6am!) on-site registration for the Tri County Hill Hopper bike ride Feb 26, 2006 in Round Top, Texas.  She has asked for 5 volunteers and those volunteers will have entry fees waived if they want to ride.
   
  Christmas/Holiday party at Willie Allen’s Thursday, Dec 15, 2006 @ 7pm.  See earlier BVC-Chat posting for more information.
