BVC-CHAT meeting notes from 02/16/05

Here are the meeting notes from the February meeting.
 

Bike to Work Day 2005 will be the last Friday in April, the 29th.

            There was some discussion post-BTWD 2004 of including other Northgate eateries and businesses.  It was decided to approach Freebird's first (Jean Marie Linhart's task) and see what their preferences are.  Also discussed was making the BTWD coupons good at other Freebird locations.

            Billy Cox is to publicize his Earn-a-Bike program this year and assist in BTWD publicity.

            Regina Hokanson is to contact Jay Socol and Ken Fogel to arrange BTWD proclamations from the city councils.

            Shawn Hokanson is to contact other eateries if BVC gets the OK from Freebirds.

            Press releases are to be updated and distributed by Amy Sharp, Lenae Huebner and Jean Marie Linhart.

            Billy Cox, Lenae, Hank to make contacts regarding BTWD PSAs.

            Lenae and others will tag bicycles in the days before BTWD to advertise the event.

            CSPD & BPD to have a presence?

 

Forward Fest 2005, Downtown Bryan, Saturday, April 2nd, 11AM to 5PM.  Laura Kennedy volunteered to host a BVC table at this event.  Anyone else?  Ride on over after Flagpole Ride perhaps?

 

BVC Jerseys - Final design was presented by Layne Westover.  

            Lenae will come up with a sponsorship master plan and she with the help of and others will to contact old T-shirt sponsors and potential new sponsors to see if they will sponsor a spot on the pockets of the jerseys.  $250/spot with the center pocket more was proposed.

            Billy Cox to set up order forms (on-line?) for jerseys and shorts.

            Price breaks discussed for member vs. non-member

 

BVC Spring Training rides

March 6th - Anderson

March 26th - Wildflower Wanderings

April 3rd - Calvert Ride

 

Treasurers Report - $2553.00 (less $80)

            $100 to go to the American League of Bicyclists if the insurance they offer covers Monday Night Social Ride and Time Trials.

 

Insurance available via Texas Bicycle Coalition?

 

Fees for Time Trials - discuss on BVC-Chat and at the April meeting.
