Subject: BVC-CHAT Monday Social Ride
Okay, I'm a female newbie. I'm going to be really brave and show up for the
Mon night social ride tomorrow night (at Regina's suggestion). I live about
45 minutes away.
I've been riding for 3 weeks now, a former distance runner. My longest
rides have been 18 and 22 miles by myself. Total mileage is about 150
miles. My current goal is to ride a fully supported 100 mile Century in
October and finish. This is subject to modification after I see how the
next few weeks go.
It looks like I'm averaging about 12 to 13 mph on courses that have some
hills. I don't believe I am pushing myself as hard as I could, but I don't
want to burn myself out or turn myself off to this sport. I think I'll do
better and ride a little faster if I ride in a group. I don't have a
cadence computer or a heart monitor, but I'm having a lot of fun!
Will I fit in with this group??
