BVC-CHAT State Road Race Postponed

In case anyone was planning on racing at Ft. Hood...

The United States Army today informed me that circumstances have changed
dramatically causing the postponement of the state road race. Here are
the facts: 

* Several Fort Hood Based Units have been notified of their imminent
deployment. 
* Several other units have been transferred to Fort Hood. 
* The DOD recently slashed "Community Relations" fund. 

The pending deployment and new transfers require battlefield training.
Unfortunately, this training occurs on and around the routes for which
we had permission to use during the race. Moreover, the DOD funds were
to be used to support / marshal the race via MPs, etc. 

The confluence of these recent changes prevents us from using the venue
at this time. I apologize for the inconvenience. I am as disappointed,
if not more, than you. 

The new race will be in the fall. We will finalize and announce the new
date within two weeks. As of this time, all pre-registrations will be
carried over. Once the new race date is announced, if someone wants a
refund, we will surely provide one.
