Could we add something about sweeping the roads and shoulders as well? We have a terrible amount of garbage and debris on our roads.

I would like to send this letter under BVC auspices to Mayor

Dear Mayor Silva,
As College Station begins to establish priorities for its future
transportation projects, the Brazos Valley Cyclists (BVC), a
bicycling club with members throughout Brazos County, urges you and
the city staff to make access for bicyclists and pedestrians an
essential component of these plans.
By building in bike lanes, sidewalks, and other provisions for safe
cycling and walking in its plans, the city of College Station will
promote these healthy, gasoline-saving alternatives to driving. Nor
are the benefits confined to bicyclists and pedestrians: The more
people who bike and walk, the less traffic congestion there is.
The League of American Bicyclists has designated College Station a
bicycle-friendly city, the only one in Texas to receive this
honor. To retain this designation and improve our quality of life,
future transportation projects should integrate biking and walking
from the start.
The BVC is ready to help however we can. One option you might want
to consider is bringing in Preston Tyree of Trans Texas Alliance (),
who has advised the city earlier on the Safe Routes to School program.
