Hello Jean Marie:
As a cyclist and member of the League of American Bicyclists, you can be
proud to support our Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) Campaign. We just
announced the newest cities throughout the country that are truly
"bicycle-friendly."
The current list includes bicycling hot spots like gold-level Eugene,
Oregon and up-and-comers like bronze-level Louisville, Kentucky. You
can see the full announcement of winners - the best cities and towns in
the country for cycling - at www.bikeleague.org/programs/communities.
Despite the good news, cyclists are still being harassed and treated as
second class citizens on our roadways. We're here to promote and
protect your rights to the road. Our Bicycle Friendly Community
Campaign is the comprehensive solution to giving you great bicycling
right there in College Station.
We're kicking off a fundraising effort to raise the resources needed to
mail every mayor in the country a BFC Action Kit to get them started on
the road to improving conditions for cyclists in College Station.
I need you, a valued League member, to give us your support with a
donation. A gift of $100 dollars would be great but any amount will
help. With a donation of $75 dollars or more we can afford to send your
mayor a personalized BFC Action Kit on your behalf (you'll get a copy
too!). With a gift of any amount we'll send you the ever-popular
fluorescent bicycle pin.
Thank you for your valued support and for being a League member. Take a
moment to visit our site to learn about the newest Bicycle Friendly
Communities, make a donation to the campaign and see the cool gifts
you'll get for doing so! You can donate online right now or by using
the mailer that should be showing up in your mailbox any day now.
Thanks again for supporting cycling and the League.
