BVC-CHAT light sugestions

A buddy and I are going to be paddling in the Texas Water Safari. This race
runs day and night. We are considering bicycle lights. They need to be
fairly bright but we have to consider battery life and price. I think we are
considering anything under $100 (not that we wouldn't reconsider :-).


Has anyone had any good personal experiences with lights? We have looked in
magazines and the choices are overwhelming.
