Thanks Willie, Richard. Awesome gatekeeping. And thanks to the rest
of the guys for the more moderate pace. Kathy stayed on to Tunis, and
I stayed on to the Cook's Point turnoff, and even managed a polite
disentanglement of myself from the group by working my way to the back
before dropping off. We hope y'all had fun on the remainder of the
trip.
I did a Humility Hill descent and climb while waiting for Kathy to
catch up to me. I found her and Krishna fixing a flat at the top, and
when Krishna got a second flat not long after, we all practiced our
problem solving skills to figure out what was happening. I keep a
small piece of rolled up electrical tape in my kit, and we spread it
on some spots where we thought the rim was a little sharp. No
further problems, so apparently that fixed it.
Krishna went from beginner status with a brand new bike, to
participating in a constantly rotating single paceline with either 2-3
participants (depending on how tired the girls were). I was impressed
-- not too many folks can go from beginner to a smooth, advanced
paceline with continual transitions like that in one morning.
How did the PMS ride go? Report, report!
Jean Marie
