Peach Creek itself doesn't go to the river; I think you're thinking of
taking a left on Sulphur Springs right where Rock Prairie turns into
Peach Creek.

The skewed NW/SE layout of B/CS plays havoc with directional intuitions;
believe it or not Peach Creek runs almost due south from Sulphur Springs
to Hwy 6 and Peach Creek Cutoff runs due west from Peach Creek.
