I did a very rough map of Willie's mother of an independence ride:
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2040902 and it comes in at around 90
Taking rte 50 north from Independence thru Clay would cut off about 13
miles, I think (Independence to Twisters is about 18 miles, whereas it's
about 31 miles via Willie's route).
But I'm afraid that my ass isn't rated for 80 or 90 miles.
Unrelatedly: the Stafford Opera House (a favorite music venue in
downtown Bryan back in the 90's) reopens tomorrow. Music starts with
Alyx Pryce (keyboardist and host of the weekly open mic at Revolution)
at 8:00, followed by J Goodin (a Revolution regular [on Tuesday nights]
who plays acoustic guitar with an edge - http://www.jgoodin.net/).
There's no cover.
