How about something like:  "Although beginners are welcome on the ride,
it should be noted that this is not a Beginners' Ride.  This means that this
is *not* a no-drop ride, and there will not be a ride leader to sweep
or shepherd
the slower riders.

We ride an easy pace (~14mph) and stay together until we get to Twisters
(at the intersection of 50 and 60) and then split into an A-group,
which averages
23mph and rides to Caldwell, and a B-group, which averages 15mph and rides
to Cooks Point.  The B-group ride is an out-and-back ride, so if you
get dropped,
you can easily pick up the pack as they head back towards home."
