[Bvc-chat] TT results 8/11/10

This week’s time trial was clouded by rain and looming thunderstorms, 
but the timer’s competence went unquestioned.

When I left my house, the temperature reported on WeatherUnderground was 
100 degrees with 33% humidity for a heat index of 104, and SE winds at 7 
mph. By start time, however, it was heavily overcast with thunderstorms 
nearby, and the riders were treated to a shower out on the course. My 
truck’s thermometer reported 90 degrees when I left for home (but it 
usually reads about 3 degrees high).

By the way, one of last week’s mis-timings, of Colin Wooldridge, was 
explained to me as him having ridden past me at the finish without 
yelling out his name (so that I wrote down his finish time under 
“unidentified”), and then he rode past the finish again and, giving me 
his name that time, I wrote down that as his finish time. His own 
clocking was 32:10.

This week’s results are reported below, sorted by finish time/speed. 
(And BTW, I know that reporting four decimal places [or even two!] on 
the speed isn’t justified by the quality of the time data, but Willie 
wanted to round his speed up and I wanted to make that look unjustified!)

(Note to the fellow who was talking to me afterwards as I tried to sort 
the results by time: I think that the results I got then were wrong, 
because in that version of the spreadsheet, the start times were 
determined by the start time of the rider before in the list, which, 
after I resorted by finish time, was wrong. The list below is accurate 
however, because I redid the spreadsheet so that the start time was 
entered manually rather than determined by reference to the preceding 
rider in the sorted list.)
