Bike Nashbar has Egg Beaters Smarty pedals on sale for $19.99 a pair.
That's a very good deal.  They are marketed as a mt. bike pedal, but I
use them for everything.  If you are looking to get your first set of
pedals and bike shoes, these would be a good choice.

I'm wondering, do I want to replace a pair of regular eggbeaters with
a set of Smarties?  Smarties are easier to ride in normal street
