Cindy,
Time Trials are timed individual efforts against the cloth over a set course. Riders are set off at 1 minute intervals and in the BVC TT's ride 10 km (6.2 miles) out, turn around and head the 10 km back to the Start/Finish line. They are a good standard to measure your cycling fitness from year to year and if you are so inclined you can compare yourself against others.

riders, 
The abbreviated 2012 BVC Summer TT Series have been extended for at least 6 more weeks. 

Since I will be out of town/state/country and out of (my) mind for the next nine weeks, several riders have agreed to time for the next 6 weeks. 

Mark McGraw has volunteered to time on Wednesdays 6/6 - next week and on 6/27

Alicia Allen has volunteered to time on Wednesdays 6/13 and on 7/3.
Bob Van Brunt has volunteered to time on Wednesdays 6/20 and on 7/10.
