There's an Austin Cycling Association ride that goes along 1331, so that bit
of road is ok. The only other that I can comment on is Highway 21, between
the Brazos River and 47. That is the worst chipseal that I've ever ridden on.
That was back in '05, so I don't know if they've fixed it (I'm
guessing not), but
I'd ride back via the Flagpole route (166). It might add a couple of miles, but
it won't seem like it, since you'll be on familiar roads, and your
teeth won't be
trying to vibrate out of your mouth.
