I just received the message below about what seems like a very
worthwhile cause. Please respond if you are able to ride with this
cyclist on June 21, or would be interested in hearing him speak (I
presume on June 20). - Thanks - CA

ps apologies to those of you on the various local cycling lists who get
this message more than once

Hello,

My name is Ron Grabau and I am a cyclist in Houston TX. I got your name off
the Brazos Valley Cyclists Members web site.

I am involved with an event called CycleUSA. CycleUSA stands for Cycle to
Understand and Solve Autism. John Keating is riding his bike across the
United states in an endurance ride to raise awareness and funds for
research. For more information, see www.cycleusa.net. John is a Canadian
Police office who has a child with autism.

John will be arriving in the College Station area on June 20. I am the
Houston representative that is charge of the route between Louisiana and
College Station. As of today, I have reservations for John at Lake Bryan on
8200 Sandy Pint Road.

I am looking for two items.

The first item is to see if anyone is interested in riding with John on the
northern section of the ride. He will leave on the morning of June 21 to
head up to Dallas.

The second item is to see if anyone is interested in hosting a event where
John can meet with people and tell his story. He is a very dynamic speaker
and has a compelling story to tell. If your cycle club is interested, they
could set up a meeting time and John would be happy to attend. It would
also be great if the University could also be involved some way.

I have been in contact with Jason Handy from college station who wants to
help too. I could send you his e-mail if you are able to assist with this
event..

I know I have not given you much time but I would appreciate any help you or
your club could provide.

Please let me know if you are interested as soon as possible. If there are
other interested people that you think would be interested in helping,
please feel free to forward this message. It would also be great if we
could get the university involved some way.

Thank you for your time and consideration
