BVC Loop de Loop Volunteers assignments

The second ride of the BVC Training Series is this Sunday, March 16. The ride starts at the Anderson-Shiro High School located at the corner of FM 149 and SR 90 in Anderson which is about 25 miles from College Station. Driving directions from BCS: 1) Drive south on SR 6 to SR 90 (at the top of the hill) in Navasoto and then head east on 90 to Anderson. Follow 90 as it curves left and climbs in 'downtown Anderson'. The high school is on the left at the top of the hill (about 30 miles from BCS). 2) Head out of BCS on SR 30 (Harvey Road) and turn right at the junction of SR 30 and FM 158 and take 30 to Carlos. At the blinking light turn right onto FM 244 and go to it T's into SR 90 just east of Anderson. Turn right and take 90 for 1.2 miles and the high school will be on your right at the top of the hill (about 25 miles from BCS). Registration opens at 12:00 and riders hit the road at 1:00. Routes options include: 21 miles, 40 miles and 60 miles and all the loop will have som!
e good climbs on it. Every distance incorporates the 21 mile loop will was the state road race course 2 years ago.
Maddog and Englishman Cycling Promotions request volunteers for the following volunteer assignments for Sunday's Loop de LoopTraining ride.
The volunteer assignments are as follows:
Registration: maddog and ?????
Pre-ride clinic: Phillip from Valley Cyclery
21 mile BVC ride host: ?????
40 mile BVC ride host: Ed H.
60 mile BVC ride host: Willie
Sagwagon: Only one needed this ride due to the over lapping nature of the routes. Ed H. has volunteered his pickup truck, just looking for someone to drive it.
The BVC ride host is to accompany a group in a friendly and non-competitive manner, to provide minor assistance/advice when needed and to pass out the treats at the end of the ride.
The BVC sag vehicle duties are the following: To bring a book and/or a Sunday paper to read while waiting. Ideally these sag vehicles will be carrying a multi-valve floor pump , spare tubes and/or a patch kit , some sort of a multi-tool, some goodies for an emergency feeds and any electronic device they chose such as a cell phone or an GPS device. The sag can liesurely finish their reading and latte before chasing after the riders. Thank you.
