[CSPS] Please Note: **School Board Position Open**

Dear Folks:

As you know, membership on the CSISD Board of Trustees is crucial to 
setting local school policy, creating a tolerant atmosphere, and making 
sure the District remains in good financial shape.  It appears that at 
least one position on the Board will be vacant this Spring and we need to 
put forward a candidate.

In the past, our local school board elections have made the difference 
between extreme and moderate positions on social issues.  As the national 
political climate becomes more argumentative and rigid, It is more 
important than ever that we have members on the Board who reflect the 
values of our local community--tolerance, inclusivity, high academic 
standards, and a respect for teachers' professionalism.  We can arrange for 
any potentially interested candidates to meet with a current School Board 
member to get a frank and honest assessment of what the job 
entails.  Please consider putting yourself forward as a candidate--others 
will be quite eager to serve the interests of their own constituencies.

You can contact me or any CSPS Board member* for additional 
information.  The CSISD District office makes packets available to 
(serious) potential candidates.  These are historic times in Texas Public 
Education.  You can help make history by serving on this important Board.
