This expansion of dual credit programs concerns me. It is a way of
undermining the overall quality of higher education programs in many
instances. Dual enrollment courses generally do not reach the rigor
of Advanced Placement courses/examinations. In years past, bright
Consol students took courses here at Texas A&M. Why not revive that
program instead of entering into an agreement with Blinn. Does this
mean than Blinn instructors will offer courses at Consolidated? Or
that Consolidated teachers will be designated as offering college
level courses as is the practice in some other schools in Texas and
nationwide? Many questions and concerns. Anyone have any answers?
Thanks,
Sarah Bednarz
