Folks,
If you can, please attend and urge others to also. These
should be stimulating meetings and a strong showing of people would be welcome.

The Coalition for the Support of Public Schools (CSPS) is sponsoring
a forum with the two candidates for State Board of Education District
9 seat, Republican Don McLeroy and Democrat Maggie Charleton. The
meeting will be Monday, October 9, at 7 p.m. at the College Station
Conference Center. Everyone is invited to attend to learn about this
important election and ask questions.

On Thursday, October 26, CSPS will host a forum on the state of
public school finance. Senator Steve Ogden, the chair of the Texas
Senate Finance Committee CHECK will be the main speaker. Bryan ISD
superintendent Mike Cargill and his College Station counterpart,
Eddie Coulson, will provide local perspectives. The event will also
be at the College Station Conference Center at 7 p.m.

CSPS is a local non-partisan, grassroots organization founded in 1995
to support the independence and promote the quality of our public
schools. For more information, contact Jonathan Coopersmith (979
