Newton Anderson is scheduled to be executed this Thursday, 2/22.  
Join us for a vigil in protest at the corner of Texas Ave. & Walton 
from 5:30-6:00 p.m.

Also, I forward below information about a speaker that could speak to 
groups in town.  If you know of someone who might be interested in 
hosting this speaker, please let me know.

At 25 years old, Gary Beeman was sentenced to death for a conviction 
of murder which the state's chief witness had admitted committing 
alone. The trial court refused to allow evidence of this admission 
and on appeal Beeman wrote the assignment of error which successfully 
overturned the conviction on that issue. Slightly over three years 
after he was convicted, Beeman became the only person known to 
proceed as his own attorney and win exoneration at a second trial.
If anyone would like Gary to speakat their venue (clubs, church or 
students) please let me know. He will be in Texas Feb. 21-March 4.
