[DP-Announce] 2 executions & a hearing this week

There are 2 executions scheduled for this week: 
Tues. 3/6 Robert Perez
Wed. 3/7 Joseph Nichols

Please join us to protest these executions at the corner of Texas 
Ave. & Walton from 5:30-6:00 p.m.

In addition, there is a hearing on March 9 in Caldwell for the case 
of Anthony Graves, who is currently awaiting a new trial.  It would 
be great if someone could make it over to Caldwell for the hearing.  
If you could go, contact Dave Atwood (dpatwood at igc.org) who is in 
touch with the Graves family and should be able to provide more 
details.  I, unfortunately, will be traveling all week so I cannot 
offer to car pool. (More info contained in the message below.

Hello Rich, 

This note to tell you that the next hearing in Anthony Graves' case 
is scheduled on March 9, in Caldwell. Please, forward it because more 
people attend the hearings of this case, better it is. 

The issue will be the bond and probably other motions ; we also hope 
that a date trial will be set. Concerning the bond, you can read the

Concerning the gag orderimposed by the judgeTowslee-Corbett, to 
prohibit AnthonyGraves and attorneys for both sides from speaking 
publicly about the case: Anthony's lawyers argues that media 
scrutinyis needed to prevent prosecutorial misconduct; recently they 
have fileda 35-page briefappeal;in a first time the court set an 
oral argument hearing (feb 22) then it canceled it.The judge Towslee-
Corbett responded to the brief with a one-paragraph document,saying 
that she felt the gag order was needed.The court has notruled yet.
