[DP-Announce] TCADP lobby Day on March 10

The legislative session is on and there is a bill to abolish the death
penalty before our legislature.  The first step is to ge a hearing, and that
will take pressure.  Please consider driving over to Austin on March 10 to
participate in TCADP's lobby day.  If anyone from BCS is going, please let
me know and we can attempt to arrange car pooling.

We will gather in the Members Lounge at the State Capitol (Room E2.1002)
from 10:00 to 11:30 AM for a training session on *House Bill 682*, a bill to
abolish the death penalty in Texas.  After lunch (on your own), participants
will meet with their legislators and/or the appropriate staff person. TCADP
will help to arrange a visit with your representative and will provide
talking points and other resources.

*Will YOU be there?*  Please register for the 2009 TCADP Lobby Day by
sending an email to lobbyday at tcadp.org or by calling the state office at
512-441-1808.  Please include your full mailing address (street, city, and
zip code) so that we can determine the House and Senate districts in which
you live.



 *Can’t make it to Austin?*  Sign up to call or fax your representative on
March 10 to urge him/her to support a hearing on House Bill 682.  Again,
please send an email to lobbyday at tcadp.org or call 512-441-1808 to let us
know that you will be participating by phone/fax.
