Friends---

The Texas Democrats For Life are holding their state convention the
weekend of June 6-7. You can visit their website at:
http://www.io.com/ctdfl/ (At the very bottom of the information is a
separate website, for Democrats For Life of Texas:
  http://www.sdgeagle.com/demolife.htm

The meeting will be in Austin, at:
Our Ladys Maronite Catholic Church, 1320 East 51st St. (From
I-35, take 51st St. Exit and go East 1.5 blocks. The church and school are
on the North side of the street.)

The TCADP has been invited to participate in a death penalty panel on
Saturday, June 7 (see below).

The organizer, Keith Sterzing, has sent me the following note:

From: H. Keith Sterzing <sterzing at io.com>
To: rhalperi at mail.smu.edu
Subject: Why Do We Kill People Bumper Sticker

Dr. Halperin--

I have seen a bumper sticker which reads, "Why do we kill people who
kill people to teach that killing people is wrong? Perhaps you know of a
better one? We would like to include one in the registration packages for
people attending the state convention of the Democrats For Life of Texas
on 6-7 June. Do you know of a source for such a bumper sticker? If
another organization (Amnesty?) wanted to fund it, it could even have
their name on it. We would also like to have a death penalty handout (say
1-5 sheets of paper) to include in the registration pkgs.

If so, please have them contact me--H. Keith Sterzing, 1203 Paint Brush
Trail, Cedar Park, Texas 78613-6455; telephone 512-401-8392.

He is also inviting other anti-dp organizations to participate via free
tabling....I would suggest that TCADP, TMN, and Amnesty participate in a
tabling effort....

Is there someone in Austin who would contact Keith, and be willing to be
our local point-person? who might be willing to get him some dp fact
sheets, brochures, etc.?

Thanks!!

here's the description of the panel:

World: Panel Chair Dr. Rick Halperin, former Amnesty International USA
