JPIers:

Below is a message from Rich Woodward of Tx Coalition to Abolish the Death
Penalty--BV Chapter. They have invited the former death row chaplain
Carroll Pickett to town today. See below for details.
****************

First, don't forget Carroll Pickett will be speaking in 301 Rudder
today (friday 11/1) at 3:00 and will be signing copies of his book at
7:00 at Barnes & Noble. If you would like to join a group of us
eating dinner with Rev. Pickett and his wife, meet us at Cafe Eccel
at 5:00

Second, after a quite month in October, the state's death machine
gets moving again with 4 executions scheduled for this month.
Nov. 6 James Colburn
Nov 19 Graig Ogan
Nov. 20 William Chappell
Nov 21 James Clark

It's a good idea to check the web site
http://web.cis.smu.edu/~deathpen/pending.html in case there is a
stay of execution.

On the date of each execution there will be a protest held at the
corner of Texas Ave. & Walton, across from the main entrance to
Texas A&M. Protests consist of a group of us standing with a
banner from 5:30 to 6:00. If you've never participated, we'd love to
have you come out and give us your support.

Rich
