Teach-In for Peace
On Wednesday, March 5, from 9:30am until 2pm many professors from across the
TAMU campus will gather in front of the academic building near the Sul Ross
statue for the purpose of conducting small group discussions about our
vision for world peace. We will be dressed in black to indicate our
concerns with current United States foreign policy, particularly the
threatened war in Iraq. We invite any interested students to stop by and
join in our discussion circles with us. We will explain our position and
invite your questions and comments. We believe that it is imperative that
we explore carefully the implications of American foreign policy in our
lives. We want to add our voices to the debate and provide an opportunity
for students to hear informed dissent from their professors. A few
musicians will be with us sharing their songs for peace. We hope to create
an environment that will advance discussion of non-violent peaceful
community on our planet in the dangerous days ahead.

Signed
Patrick Slattery, Professor, College of Education
