Pat,
To me, it makes no difference whether we call it the CL group or
the SCL group. If it makes a difference to you, I will call it
SCL. I can't imagine why anyone else (ISO or not) would care.
Re CG concrete syntax: I promise to do that by Dec. 12th.
As I said in a previous note, I am planning to break the task
into two parts: define EGIF (Existential Graph Interchange
Format) as the typeless version and CGIF as the typed version.
Re Harry: In January, we talked about making Chris the ISO
editor, but it cost $800 plus expenses to participate, and
Chris did not show any interest in participating, in finding
the funding, or in asking Nancy to help. At Dresden in July,
we had Nancy, Harry, and me. Nancy said that she could scare
up some funding, and Harry said that he would be willing to
do the work. It was not possible to get a quick approval from
the SCL group on the spot.
Re telecon: I'm in California now, and I can call in at
7 am on either Nov. 11 or 12. I can call from New York
on Nov. 14 at 10 am, but not on Nov 13th.
Meanwhile, I promise to drop all discussions of political
issues or changes to the SCL semantics between now and
Dec. 12th (unless other people make a fuss about such things).
John
