[SCL] The Real World Hits

Gentlemen,

In reviewing where I am and where I need to be in the next few
months, I think I must be more realistic about the amount of
time I have available for anything beyond the priority of my
Ph.D. work, which is now behind schedule. I'm getting my marching
orders here, and I don't think it's reasonable for me or fair to
you for me to continue with any commitment of work to this group.
I can perhaps still review anything passed my way on a time-
permitting basis, but I simply must curtain all nonessential
activities if I'm going to get back on track here. I'm sorry about
this for both you and me, as I'd like to have been able to make
a contribution here. I think if the actual work had happened last
spring or even early summer I probably could have done it, but
heading into winter now I really must dig in my heals and concentrate
on my studies or I won't finish.
