[SCL] RDF in an SCL world

Bill,

I certainly agree that we have to deal with RDF, which
is already gathering a fairly significant following.

But the fact that OWL is less expressive than SQL means
it has no future: Any new system has an uphill battle
in contending with entrenched technology. If the new
system has *less* functionality than the old one, it
is doomed. The fact that most web servers are already
using SQL to store operational data means that the
programmers are more likely to use SQL constraints than
OWL constraints.

My prediction: People will extract RDF data, put it
into SQL databases, use SQL constraints instead of
OWL, and use SQL as the query language.

John
