Would you care to elaborate a bit: which aspects provoke firm opposition 
and why?

BTW, on the standardisation front I am in the camp of believers in the 
implementation-based de facto
standards: committees can improve such standards, but not create 
meaningful standards from
scratch. Hence I believe there won't be a meaningful RDFS, OWL, CL or 
SCL kind of standard before
a widely used and successful implementation appears. Until then, the 
standardisation efforts
will be mainly educational projects,  which is IMHO a nice and positive 
activity, if taken as such.
