Graduate students are invited to present their research at an interdisciplinary conference on cognitive science that will be held at the University of Quebec in Montreal, on June 15th-17th, 2007.

This years' theme is social cognition. Abstracts (600 words) should be submitted online before March 15th. A more complete description and an abstract submission form are available online at http://cognitio.uqam.ca. First authors should be graduate students or postdoc researchers affiliated with a university or research centre. Disciplinary affiliation of the authors is not relevant, but the theme should be addressed through a cognitive science point of view. Presentations should be in English. All talks will be 30 minutes long (including discussion) and should be intended for an interdisciplinary audience. This conference is the first in a series of important events on social cognition at UQAM in 2007-2008, culminating with the 2008 summer school Minds and Societies. The author(s) of the best Cognitio talk, as determined by Cognitio's scientific committee, will be invited to present his or her work at the 2008 Summer School.

The Cognitio conference is held every year at the University of Québec in Montréal (UQAM) since 2004. Young researchers from many countries and different fields related to cognitive science (psychology, neuroscience, computer science, linguistics, philosophy, etc.) present their research and exchange with other scholars in a friendly and stimulating atmosphere. The Cognitio 2005 proceedings (_Cognitive Decision-Making: Empirical and Foundational issues_, Hardy-Vallee, ed.) are available at Cambridge Scholars Publishing. The Cognitio 2006 proceedings (_Beyond the brain: embodied, situated & distributed cognition_, Hardy-Vallee & Payette, ed.) should follow in the course of 2007.

Les étudiants des cycles supérieurs sont invités à présenter leurs recherches lors d'un colloque interdisciplinaire de sciences cognitives qui se tiendra à l'Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM, http://www.uqam.ca), du 15 au 17 juin 2007. Le thème de cette année est la cognition sociale. Les résumés doivent être soumis en-ligne. Vous trouverez le formulaire de soumission ainsi qu'une description plus complète du thème à l'adresse: http://cognitio.uqam.ca. Le premier auteur doit être un étudiant aux cycles supérieurs ou un post-doctorant. L'auteur peut provenir de n'importe quelle discipline, mais le thème doit être abordé du point de vue des sciences cognitives. Les présentations doivent être en anglais. Chaque présentation durera 30 minutes et devra s'adresser à un auditoire interdisciplinaire. Cette année, Cognitio est le premier d'une importante série d'événements sur la cognition sociale qui aura lieu à l'UQAM en 2007-2008 et qui culminera avec l'école d'été 2008 : Minds and Societies. Le ou les auteurs de la meilleure présentation à Cognitio, telle que déterminée par le comité scientifique, seront invités à présenter leurs recherches lors de l'école d'été 2008.

Le colloque Cognitio se tient à l'Université du Québec à Montréal à chaque année depuis 2004. De jeunes chercheurs de différents pays et de différentes disciplines reliées aux sciences cognitives (psychologie, neurosciences, informatique, linguistique, philosophie, etc.) y présentent leurs recherches et échangent avec d'autres étudiants dans une atmosphère stimulante et conviviale. Le colloque vise à encourager les discussions et l'interdisciplinarité. Les actes de Cognitio 2005 (_Cognitive Decision-Making: Empirical and Foundational issues_, Hardy-Vallee, ed.) sont disponibles chez Cambridge Scholars Publishing. Les actes de Cognitio 2006 (_Beyond the brain: embodied, situated & distributed cognition_, Hardy-Vallee & Payette, ed.) devraient être publiés au cours de l'année 2007.
