TS REMINDER: Touchstone Garage Sale Setup Friday, Sale on Saturday. Volunteers and items needed.

      The Touchstone is having its annual garage sale this Saturday, 
February 28 8 AM - noon at The Unitarian Fellowship, 305 Wellborn Rd. in 
College Station.   We need both volunteers to help out and donated items to 
sell.  Set-up and drop-off of items for the sale will begin at 4 PM at the 
Fellowship on Friday, February 27.
      The garage sale is one of our major money makers. It costs 
approximately $4500 per year to produce five issues of the magazine. Since 
we distribute it for free, we make no money on sales of the magazine.  We 
also accept only a limited amount of advertising.  Hence, we are largely 
funded by proceeds from this sale and by our fund drive which occurs in 
late April/early May.
       Won't you help out by donating items for us to sell and/or your 
time?  Even if you only spare an hour or two to volunteer, that helps us a 
lot. On Friday starting at 4 PM we will be accepting, sorting, and pricing 
items for the sale.  We need volunteers to help with this. Pizza, beer, and 
soft drinks will be provided.  We anticipate being at the Fellowship until 
at least 7 PM.  On Saturday we need volunteers at the sale starting at 7:30 
AM.  Coffee, juice and muffins, sweet rolls, or donuts will be available 
for helpers.  From our experience from previous sales, we expect that it 
will be very busy at the sale until at least 10 AM.  Clean-up will begin at 
noon on Saturday.  If we have enough volunteers, clean-up should be pretty 
much finished by 2 PM.
      Volunteers are needed at all times of the set-up and 
sale.  Volunteers with trucks or large cars to help transport items are 
especially appreciated on Friday evening and at clean-up on Saturday.  We 
also need and appreciate all donated items. As we have done in years past, 
all donated items that are in reasonable condition and not sold (and if the 
original owners have not made other requests) will be donated to charity 
after the end of the sale.
