As many of you already know, Sheri Allen-Wright and her late husband Flynn
in addition to running our local Green Party and actively supporting The
Touchstone were very involved with Somerfest. Sheri is continuing with her
activism. She's mentioned to me several times about The Touchstone having
an information booth there where in addition we can distribute copies of
the magazine. I think that's a good idea and I'll be there but, of course,
would also like some others who have supported The Touchstone to join me
(and relieve me at times).
She's also mentioned that we could in addition/instead run a
vegetarian food booth as a money raiser where we could sell corn on the
cob, beans, rice, vegetarian (soy) burger and hot dogs, fruit etc. . I
think that's an excellent idea and something we should do (we need the
money) -- but that's something I definitely can't do by myself.
I've placed a recent email from Sheri about Somerfest below so you can
have an idea about it. Please get back with me as soon as possible if
you're interested in volunteering to help with either/both of these -- an
information booth/table and a vegetarian food booth. (We're late for
getting a food booth but since it will be vegetarian they will probably
still let us in). I hope you can join me there. I think it would be great
if we could do the food booth.
