The Touchstone Garage Sale is less than two weeks away. We need
volunteers and items for the upcoming garage sale to benefit
Touchstone magazine/radio. This sale will take place at the
Unitarian Fellowship in College Station. Please help out if you at
all can on Friday starting at 4 PM Feb. 24 or Saturday Feb. 25
starting at 7 AM. Pizza, beer, and soft drinks provided to those who
help on Friday and coffee and muffins to those who help on Saturday.
Even a time donation of an hour helps us a lot. We need you, we need
your vehicles, and we need your items! This sale is huge -- so please
stop by to shop even if you can't donate items or time. I hope to
see you on Feb 24 and/or Feb. 25 at the Unitarian Fellowship. (Our
original email message with more details is below.)

Touchstone Radio commentator
P.S. We're hoping to have the new issue of The Touchstone available
and on the streets before the garage sale. I've just seen the first
few pages in pdf form from Chris Menzel who mocks up the issue prior
to sending it off to the printers. From what I've seen so far, I
think it will be one of our strongest and most powerful and moving
issues to date.
The annual Touchstone garage sale will be held this year on Saturday,
Feb. 25 8 AM - noon at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 305
Wellborn in College Station. This sale is big. As usual, we need
your donated items to sell, volunteers to help out, and vehicles for
item transportation.
Furniture, CDs, DVDs, computer games, electronics, computer
equipment, TVs, clothes, books, toys, tools, small appliances,
sporting equipment, art work, etc. all sell. Since many of us have
already cleaned out our attics and garages for previous sales, we
really need your stuff to help us make money to keep the magazine and
radio show going. If you have items to donate, we most appreciate
your dropping them off at the Fellowship after 4 PM on Friday, Feb.
24; however, if that's difficult/impossible we can pick up items from
your home or elsewhere. There's only very limited storage space
available prior to Feb. 24 so if you at all can we also appreciate it
if people who are donating items keep them until the Friday before
the sale. If that's not possible then we will find some storage
space -- just let me know.
We need volunteers to help out on Friday, Feb. 24 with item
pick up, sorting, cleaning, and pricing as well as general set-up and
organization. On Saturday we need people to help at the sale and for
clean-up. Volunteers for our previous sales have mentioned to me how
much fun they thought it was (its a lot of work too:)). Help is
needed 4 PM - 11 PM Friday, Feb. 24 and 7 AM - 3 PM Saturday, Feb.
25. If you at all can -- please volunteer even if only for a couple
hours. We need you! Pizza, beer, and soft drinks will be provided
on Friday night. Coffee and muffins on Saturday.
Vehicles (preferably with drivers) are especially needed for
item transportation on Friday, Feb. 24 and after the sale for
clean-up and some item delivery. Pick-up trucks are especially prized.
If you have a chance, let me know if you'll be providing a
vehicle, volunteering and/or donating items. That helps us with our
planning. Of course, you can also volunteer or donate at the last
minute as well.
I hope to see you at the sale -- as a volunteer, a customer, or both.
Danny
P.S. Thanks again for your support and help with our past Touchstone
garage sales!
