Don't forget that the due date for articles, poetry, ads, and
announcements for the next Touchstone is Tuesday, April 4. Right
now we're short of good submissions. Hence, if you've been thinking
about writing something for The Touchstone, now is a good time since
the chances are greater that your article will be accepted. If you'd
like to submit something please let me know right away about the
topic and also to request our style guide.
I hope to see you as well at Forward Fest on Saturday!

            Danny Yeager, Editor

> As many of you know, The first Touchstone of the year (Vol. 16,
> No. 1) was delayed because our longtime printer unexpectedly went
> out of business. Consequently, we're extending the due date for
> articles, ads, announcements, and poems for our second issue. The
> new due date is Tuesday, April 4. If you're planning on submitting
> something for that issue, please contact me as soon as
> possible. Also if you would like a copy of The Touchstone writer's
> guide please let me know.
>
> Our first issue is now back from the printers and is available
> (or will be soon) at several blue newspaper boxes and other
> locations throughout Bryan and College Station as well as on the
> Blinn and A&M campuses. For those of you who receive a copy by
> mail, we hope to get those out soon.
> We have several really good articles in this issue including
> many by local writers. The lead, "Reflections on the Wall, A
> Remembrance" by Gary Varner, I think many people will find to be
> very moving. Local writers Ray White, Charles Phillips, Karen Hall,
> Lisa Wildmo, Bud Wurtz, and Anne Lessem all have fine articles. In
> addition, we have poetry by Anne McCrady; cartoons by Tom Tomorrow,
> Matt Wuerker, and Golliver; and some really nice pieces by Bob
> Jensen, Tim Wise, Paul Street, David Atwood, Ed Sebesta, Greg
> Moses, Kevin Stoda, and Philip Brasfield.
>
> We need people to help distribute the magazine. This involves
> seeing that some newspaper boxes and businesses are supplied with
> magazines and then rechecking every few days/weeks. This is not a
> particularly time-consuming task -- provided we have enough people
> to do it. If you'd like to help out, we're having a distribution
> meeting on Monday, April 27 at 6 PM at Revolution in downtown
> Bryan. If you can't help distribute but would like to meet some of
> us or volunteer to do something else, please also stop by. Finally,
> if you'd like to help distribute but can't make the meeting, let me
> know and we can make arrangements to get you some bundles and set
> aside some delivery locations.
> I hope to see you at Revolution.
